Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about ShadowSend and on-chain privacy.

ShadowSend is a privacy tool for Solana that breaks the on-chain link between your funding wallet and destination address. It uses a shared anonymity pool where multiple users' deposits are combined, making it impossible to determine which withdrawal corresponds to which deposit.

ShadowSend significantly enhances privacy by breaking the direct transaction graph visible on block explorers. However, no tool can guarantee 100% anonymity. Factors like wallet fingerprinting, IP tracking, and timing analysis can still reveal information. We recommend using a VPN, clearing cookies, and never revealing your connection to your destination wallet.

No. We do not store IP addresses, wallet addresses, transaction history, session data, or any personally identifiable information. The app runs entirely client-side. Your wallet connection is handled by your browser extension and no data is sent to our servers.

Phantom, Backpack, Solflare, Coinbase Wallet, Trust Wallet, and any wallet that implements the Solana Wallet Adapter standard.

Currently SOL is fully supported. USDC and BONK support is in development. For SPL tokens, make sure the destination address supports the token standard.

The minimum deposit is 0.01 SOL to cover network fees. There is no hard maximum, but large transactions may take longer to mix as they are split across multiple pool cycles for privacy.

Typically 12-30 seconds. You can enable a randomized delay (recommended) which adds 5-15 extra seconds to prevent timing analysis attacks.

You will receive a transaction signature for the deposit to the pool. However, the withdrawal transaction to your destination address originates from the pool contract, not your wallet — so Solscan cannot link the two transactions.

The client-side code (this website) is open source. The pool smart contract code will be published after security audit. We believe in transparency and verifiability.

You pay standard Solana network fees (~0.000005 SOL) for the deposit transaction. There is no additional service fee. The mixing process itself is free.

Privacy tools are legal in most jurisdictions. However, using privacy protocols to obscure illegal activity is not. Compliance with local laws and regulations is your sole responsibility. ShadowSend does not facilitate or condone illegal activity.

If the deposit transaction fails, your funds never leave your wallet — they remain safely in your connected wallet. If the pool experiences issues, your funds are automatically returned to the sending address.

Privacy Policy

Data Collection

ShadowSend does not collect, store, or process any personal data. The application runs entirely in your browser. No analytics, cookies, or tracking scripts are used. Your wallet connection is handled by your browser extension and is never transmitted to our servers.

Wallet Connectivity

When you connect your wallet, the connection is managed by the Solana Wallet Adapter standard. Your public key is visible to the application for transaction purposes but is never logged, stored, or shared with third parties.

Transactions

All transactions are signed locally on your device and broadcast to the Solana network. Transaction details (amount, signatures) are visible on-chain by design but cannot be linked back to your identity through ShadowSend.

Third-Party Services

ShadowSend uses the Solana RPC API and Solscan for transaction data display. These services have their own privacy policies. We recommend reviewing them separately.

Changes to This Policy

This privacy policy may be updated occasionally. Significant changes will be communicated through the application. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
